Common Core for Higher Ed

Next month the National Math and Science teacher training team will be heading to Tennessee to work with college of education faculty on imbedding common core into teacher preparation.  This is a first as far as we know and a great collaboration between the Tennessee HIgher Education Commission (THEC), Lipscomb University and NMSI. Tennessee has been incredible in their work to prepare for common core implementation and we are very excited to be a part of it. We are also working with a district to train their curriculum directors on what they need to do to prepare for common core.
As for the higher ed teacher prep teams - here is a sample of the agenda for the two day training. We were excited that higher education was involved with the PARCC Educator Leader Cadre and it created this amazing opportunity to work with Tennessee on bringing common core into teacher preparation. More to come!
