‘It Only Takes One’ Video Series Highlights the Positive Influence of Great Teachers

NMSI is excited to recognize the third annual installation of the College Football Playoff Foundation’s “It Only Takes One” series, featuring college football legends and broadcasters celebrating the teachers who made differences in their lives. The 2019 videos include former student-athletes Kirk Herbstreit (Ohio State), Raghib “Rocket” Ismail (Notre Dame), Billy Sims (Oklahoma), Maria Taylor (Georgia), LaDainian Tomlinson (TCU), and Keena Turner (Purdue).

“We’re grateful these former student-athletes are willing to share stories about the one teacher who inspired them,” said Britton Banowsky, executive director of the Irving-based foundation. “All of us can point to a teacher who made a significant, lasting impact on our lives. By sharing these stories on a national platform, these football legends and broadcasters will help the CFP Foundation celebrate, recognize and elevate teachers, a critical part of our mission.”

The videos are part of the foundation’s fifth annual Extra Yard for Teachers Week, which wraps up on Saturday. NMSI is proud to work with the foundation to celebrate and honor teachers for their critical work.

Along with the foundation we encourage fans to honor their most impactful teacher with a tribute video on social media. Use the hashtags #ItOnlyTakesOne, #ExtraYardWeek and #NMSINation.
