These Are the Teaching Material Educators Need Now

Years after leaving the classroom, I’m still easily pulled back into the excitement and anxiety of the end of summer. Day One of new students in my classes set the tone for the year. I could start ahead and ready or unprepared and frazzled. My students would know which.

My heart is with teachers across the country today. As an educational service provider, I can only imagine the added stress of protecting one’s health, preparing for in-person and online teaching and the great uncertainty of what will come next.

It’s for this reason that I want to be clear and straight forward: NMSI has changed the way it serves current school partners, expanded how it works directly with teachers, and simplified the way that any teacher can get high-quality, ready-to-use education resources.

You’ve heard other providers say similar things. You anticipate a top-down initiative with one-time, sit-and-get training. You don’t hold hope that this is for private, religious or homeschool communities. In short, the help will be too little, too late.

My colleagues and I have been there with you and we’ve made this much easier – and much better – than that.

For a one-time cost of $75 per course, you now have immediate and permanent access to as many as 12 units of planning and classroom-ready material for any of 12 College Board Advanced Placement® courses. The educative curricula include material designed by NMSI teachers who have track records of leading their AP® students to success. It also includes publicly available content that we have gathered, vetted and organized for you.

Each unit contains NMSI-designed essential questions and enduring understandings, at least one NMSI-designed model lesson, at least one formative assessment, a student performance task, teacher supports and guidance on effective use of unit resources published by The College Board.

In addition to helping you plan and pace your teaching the NMSI supports are designed to be adapted for diverse communities of students, making content relevant to students no matter where and how they live and regardless of whether they are in school or learning from home.
