National STEM program implemented at Southwest and Swansboro High Schools

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Marine Corps Air Station, New River, and Onslow County Schools formally announced a partnership with an evidence-based, rigorous national STEM program Wednesday.
The program is currently in Swansboro and Southwest High Schools due to a grant funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.
Currently, 232 students from Swansboro and 61 from Southwest High Schools are enrolled in STEM AP classes.
The program is a two-year College Readiness Program from the National Math and Science initiative.
