Since our founding in 2007, we’ve empowered over 2.9 million students and 72,000 teachers across 1800 high schools in 43 states. Remote-First Culture: NMSI is a remote-first organization, empowering staff to work primarily from home. We expect employees to maintain a dedicated, distraction-free workspace with reliable high-speed internet. We value autonomy, flexibility, and clear communication across time zones—and we foster collaboration through virtual tools and regular team check-ins.  

Work Environment: Remote-First setup with a monthly telecommunications stipend and a one-time home office set-up reimbursement allotment. 

Interview Process

Our selection process is designed to be transparent, thorough, and candidate-friendly:

Application Review

We begin with careful evaluation of your resume and cover letter. Qualified candidates will be invited to a pre-screening interview.

Interviews

Candidates will participate in virtual interviews with NMSI team members and leaders. You’ll also have the chance to share a confidential work sample—this helps us understand your approach and gives you a preview of the role.

References

Before extending an offer, we’ll contact your professional references, including at least one current or former supervisor. This step follows the final interview round.

Employment at NMSI is contingent upon successful completion of county, state, and federal background checks. Certain roles, particularly those involving financial oversight, may require additional screenings.
