OUTCOMES OF NMSI'S WORK

Broadening Access

We’re expanding access to advanced, high-quality STEM education by increasing capacity for rigorous courses, preparing educators, and helping all students reach key math and science milestones. This increased access all starts with a strong STEM culture and well-supported teachers in every classroom.

Increasing Academic Achievement

Backed by research identifying teachers as the most influential in-school factor for student achievement, our programs consistently deliver results. Schools across the country report increased student engagement, stronger performance on state assessments, and more qualifying AP scores after partnering with NMSI.

STEM Workforce Readiness

STEM is the fastest-growing sector of the U.S. workforce, and NMSI is ensuring the next generation is ready. Students in NMSI-supported schools are more likely to pursue STEM degrees and careers, thanks to inspired, well-equipped teachers who are shaping tomorrow’s innovators and problem-solvers.

“As educational institutions and policymakers continue to seek ways to improve STEM education and close achievement gaps, the findings from this project offer valuable insights into the role of professional development in achieving these goals…[NMSI] serves as a model for other initiatives aimed at enhancing teacher effectiveness and improving student outcomes in critical academic areas.”
