DALLAS, TX – November 2025 – The National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) in Georgia to provide high-impact professional development (PD) for teachers in mathematics, science, and English. This collaboration reflects CCPS’s commitment to strengthening instruction and enhancing college and career readiness for students.

The partnership offers both in-person and online support to hundreds of CCPS teachers and will leverage NMSI’s research-based framework to align content and elevate teacher effectiveness. The partnership includes Content Workshops, Vertical Team Trainings, and district-level strategic support to ensure support for CCPS initiatives. Educators will also have access to ongoing digital resources such as NMSI’s Teacher Villages, Teacher Libraries, Pedagogy Training Modules, and the Critical Reasoning for College Readiness (CR4CR) framework.

“This partnership highlights what NMSI does best—delivering research-backed, high-impact professional development to the educators who need it most,” said Travis Hester, NMSI Cultivation Manager. “Through tailored workshops and ongoing coaching, we’re helping CCPS build lasting capacity to improve student learning in math, science, and literacy.”

“Working with NMSI demonstrates our commitment to providing every student with challenging, meaningful learning experiences,” said Dr. Tonya Clarke, CCPS Math Coordinator. “Supporting our teachers with the right tools and deep content knowledge ensures students succeed today and are prepared for college and future careers.”

“What makes this partnership powerful is the shared commitment to long-term growth," said Tameaka McKinney, CCPS Science Coordinator. “NMSI isn’t just providing training — they’re helping us build sustainable systems and a professional community where teachers feel supported, connected, and equipped to elevate instruction. This collaboration strengthens the foundation we are building for students across Clayton County.”

This partnership reinforces both organizations’ dedication to closing achievement gaps and expanding access to high-quality instruction, particularly in high-need schools across the county. By investing in teacher growth and instructional coherence, the partnership will help ensure that every CCPS student experiences rigorous, relevant, and equitable learning.
